Job Description : Hindi-Curriculum Associate

Avanti is an award winning social enterprise established by IIT alumni in 2010 to provide an affordable, high-quality education to disadvantaged students aspiring to study at India’s top colleges. At present, we have 170 full-time employees, and support over 2000 students in 20 locations across India.
At Avanti, we implement a unique pedagogy called Peer Instruction® that enables collaborative learning. Students
consume lecture content in the form of recorded videos and reading material before attending class. In place of
conventional lectures, classroom time is used to get students to work collaboratively on problem sets and clarify doubts by interacting with subject experts. Over the past 2 years, we have shown that our students outperform the most expensive after-school programs in the country at less than one-fourth the cost.
Avanti is a PanIIT Alumni initiative, winner of Stanford BASES 2010 and recipient of the Echoing Green, Ashoka and Draper Richards Kaplan Fellowships. Our investors include the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. Our academic board is chaired by Prof. Eric Mazur, Dean of Applied Physics at Harvard.
Overview of the Role
The Curriculum Associate is responsible for the end-to-end design, development and delivery of a high quality
experience for students, adhering to Avanti’s unique Peer Collaboration pedagogy that builds upon Prof. Mazur’s
groundbreaking work on Peer Instruction. More details are available on our website.
Responsibilities
● Create an engaging learning experience for students through creation of multimedia video lessons for Hindi medium students.
● Creation of Modules with solutions, Test papers with solutions, short-notes in Hindi medium.
● Ensure zero error-rate and timely creation of all content.
● Document and analyze student data gathered from classrooms and use it to judge efficacy of teaching practices.
● Collaborate with Avanti’s technology team to design and test features for Avanti’s e-learning platform
Requirements
● Well versed in at least one of Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics or Biology for Class XI and XII
● Candidate must have hindi medium background in their 11th and 12th class.
● Good knowledge of Hindi Terminology along with good hand-writing.
● Excellent Translation (from English to hindi) and communication skills.
● Good confidence while teaching or explaining the concepts on board.
● Ability to connect with, inspire and motivate students and Passion for working in education.
● Excellent critical thinking skills, including the ability to link cause and effect and generate solutions to problems
● Prior experience in creating content and teaching students of Class XI and XII is an added advantage.
Location: Delhi (office – 212, Shahpur Jat, near hauzkhas metro station, New delhi - 110049)
Compensation: INR 4,00,000 – 5,00,000 per annum. The final compensation will be decided based on prior experience and performance in the interview process.
