Functions / Responsibilities

This is a 4-year program being led by Headstreams, funded by the Mphasis F1 Foundation and supported by Phicus Social Solutions. There are two components of the Program, Arivu and Disha. 

The highlights of the program are:

• Life-Cycle Approach (Grades 6 – 10)


• Focus on Enabling skills – Reading and Comprehension, Digital Literacy, Life Skills – that have been proven to positively impact learning outcomes


• Leveraging – Digital Learning, Self Learning, Experiential Learning, Peer Learning


• Innovative program design and complete kits for Arivu and Disha


• Transition to school teachers to enable program sustainability


• Parental and community engagement through Tackle Caravan program 


• Volunteer engagement through Certificate programs

Position: Project Assistant

Role:

• Implement the Arivu and Disha programs in the assigned schools


• Monitor student learning on a regular basis


• Implement the Tackle Caravan community engagement program in the assigned community


• Work closely with the teachers in schools to transition the program to them commencing Year 2, through a structured process of training and on-the-job training and coaching


• Engage closely with the HMs of the schools - share information regularly regarding program and outcomes, explore ways of engaging relevant teachers, build a strong collaborative relationship


• Engage the SDMC and BEO and share information regarding the program and outcomes


• Track and report back to the central team on project progress leveraging defined project tracking templates


• Conduct field research and community engagement activities as per central team guidelines

Experience: Graduate/ post graduate; field experience of 2 – 3 years preferably working with children; freshers with relevant skills will also be considered

Skills: English proficiency; relationship skills; knowledge of Kannada would be an advantage

Locations: Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar.
