India will continue to add 1 million to its workforce every month for the next 15 years, most of whom come from

escape the cycle of poverty, through gainful employment but imparting livelihood training is proving to be insufficient.
The/Nudge Foundation focuses on sustainable poverty alleviation. The/Nudge Foundation is a collective initiative of
some of India's best leaders and entrepreneurs, with a dream to see a poverty-free India within our generation. Our goal
is to pull 1 million people sustainably out of poverty.

Context: India’s ambition to become a globally leading manufacturing hub requires sufficient qualified workers and
indeed more than 250 million young people are expected to join the Indian labour market in the next 15 years.
Sustainable economic development and job creation are thus at the top of the political agenda. This priority led to the
setting up of a full-fledged Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in 2014 and enunciation of the
National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in 2015. A key pillar of this new policy is the active
involvement of private enterprises for establishing a demand-driven, workplace-based Vocational Education and
Training (VET).
You will be working on an exciting new initiative at The/Nudge funded by a large international donor, which aims to
bridge the gap between the available skill sets and the demands of the industry through a workplace-based cooperative
VET model. This done through developing an end-to-end model of apprenticeship promotion through a robust career
guidance mechanism across Electronics manufacturing and SME industries.
The outputs and outcomes of the project are -
