Sportskeeda is looking for an energetic Senior Content Editor –Football to join its editing team
based out of Bangalore. You will be part of the team that edits and publishes highly engaging
football content from writers across the world. We operate in an extremely competitive
environment where quality and being first to market is paramount.
The Senior Content Editor-Football will be responsible for ensuring the quality of coverage of
football news and reportage of European and Indian football through Sportskeeda.com
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality of football content on the website
- Be well informed with football happenings, including Indian football, and report breaking news
quickly
- Edit and publish articles submitted by freelancers and online writers
- Manage a writer community; organize, motivate and add good writers consistently to help grow
the football content on the website quantitatively and qualitatively
- Plan for match reports, rumor articles, previews, analysis, opinions, and live-text commentary
- Plan for player interviews, local match coverage and other exclusives when required
- Network, obtain player, agent or organizational contacts and extract ‘newsworthy’ stories
Key skills:
- Strong command over spoken and written English
- Have a good understanding of European and Indian football
- Ability to manage and motivate writers remotely
- Ability to plan and meet content requirements
- Ability to network to get unique stories from players and organisations
- Basic understanding of SEO

Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience, with some time spent working in a news bureau executing
news reporting and writing responsibilities. Editorial experience would be vital for the successful
execution of the role. Experience managing a team would add value.

Location: Bangalore
Work shift: 9 hours a day, 5 days a week
- Candidate must be flexible to work in shifts and on weekends.
Remuneration Range: 6LPA -8 LPA
