We write to you from The Weather Channel India — a JV of IBM's The Weather Company and The Times of India (Times Bridge). We have been covering news and insights around weather, science and environment extensively in India since May 2018.

We are currently looking for a suitable candidate for a full-time consultant position. Listed below are the details and specific requirements of the role.

Position: Consultant Science Writer



Location: Work from home

Nature of the work: Contractual, full-time

Term: 6 months (extendable based on performance)

Salary: ₹20,000-25,000 per month (based on experience)



Job description: To generate and manage content for The Weather Channel India's editorial and social media platforms.



Responsibilities:

• Write at least one article of ~300 words every day on beats relevant to weather.com


• Cover daily weather update articles first thing in the morning (before 9:30 am)


• Identify, edit and publish relevant wire stories and videos daily


• Actively ideate on impactful social media content


• Manage social media handles at least one day a week


• Ensure all the content is as per the brand’s editorial guidelines and standards

Requirements:

• Some experience in and aptitude for journalistic writing, particularly science communication


• Strong command over the English language and excellent writing skills


• Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, time-management and multitasking skills
