About Purple Chilli

Purple Chilli is an early stage agribusiness enterprise with a mission to accomplish two objectives -

1. Provide an avenue for smallholder farmers to dramatically improve their incomes and reduce risk, and

2. Delight consumers with the highest quality fresh produce that is fresh, safe, and

wholesome.

Purple Chilli is founded by two experienced agribusiness professionals with over 15 years of combined experience in the industry.

ï‚· Siddharth Tata, CEO, has worked in the agribusiness industry in various roles- as an

impact investor at Acumen, grantmaker at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and

consultatnt at McKinsey. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors degree from IIT-Madras.

ï‚· Shashi Kumar, COO, is an organic farming expert. He is the co-founder of Akshayakalpa, India's largest organic milk company, a brand that is trusted by over 10,000 families in

Bangalore. He is also the co-founder of Stellapps, one of India’s fastest growing agri-tech startups. He has a Masters degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago and a Bachelors degree from Kalpataru Institute of Technology.

Purple Chilli has developed a technology and process suite wherein a farmer with just 1 acre of land can grow 20+ varieties of vegetables 365 days a year earning Rs 20,000-30,000 per month. The technology and process suite has been successfully proven in our Learning and Demonstration farm in Ramanagram District, about 50Km outside Bangalore. Purple Chilli will work with farmers in the neighborhood to replicate the technology and process suite.

In parallel, we have built a direct to customer subscription based vegetables and greens delivery service in select locations in Bangalore. Customer feedback on quality, freshness and taste has been exceptionally positive, something that is reflected in the industry beating renewal rates we have among customers.

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Marketing Officer who will be responsible for

1. Supporting B2C lead generation and management of the customer service function which includes customer communication, follow-ups and resolving customer issues.

2. Customer acquisition by reaching out to new leads and explaining the benefits of our company’s products to sign on new customers.

3. Social media strategy (mainly Facebook) to keep customers engaged and boost company credibility.

4. Maintaining the customer database in the specified format.

5. Design conceptualization and content creation for marketing collateral such as flyers, infographics, etc.

6. Assist the sales and marketing team by providing necessary support to run events.

7. Support the running key business metrics to track customer acquisition, renewal rates, etc.

Qualification and Characteristics

The right candidate will have

1. A Bachelors degree in Commerce, Arts, or Sciences or related field.

2. Excellent communication skills in English and be able to speak in Hindi and Kannada.

3. Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs like Excel and Word.

4. Ability to work in a small team with few resources.
