About IU
IdeasUnbound is an innovation hub within the development sector, on the lines of R&D setups in the
science and technology space. Our belief is that a dedicated environment fostering innovation helps
in coming up with the ideas of tomorrow and beyond which can disrupt the pace of change based on
mainstream thinking within this sector. Our focus is not to develop a product or a service to fulfil an
unmet need. Rather, our ideas aim to fundamentally alter the approach to a problem, by challenging
basic assumptions and devising new development models. We envision ourselves at the forefront of
thinking in the development space and continuously push the boundaries. Our work has a strong
research component to it which also involves interactions with academia and thematic experts. The
research function continuously feeds into the ideation process which is on demand and real-time. A
rigorous Ideation process helps quickly distil a wide array of ideas to arrive at one or more disruptive
ideas.
We pilot these disruptive ideas across different contexts within India to arrive at a proof of concept.
Once these piloted disruptive ideas are proven to be scalable, we collaborate with grassroots
organizations and government functions for the scale up. The eventual outcome is for people to be
able to make better choices regarding their wellbeing due to their expanded world view.
As part of our work in the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) space, we work with organizations to
develop a Theory of Change (ToC), both at an organization level and at a programme level. We
leverage technology to develop mobile based monitoring solutions to help organizations track
progress across Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a real-time basis. We also conduct evaluation
studies for large programmes, at various stages of the lifecycle, helping in course correction and
enabling scale-up.

Scope of work
Primary role:
1) Work with a large client in the Renewable Energy space in providing Monitoring & Evaluation
related support
2) Devise innovative solutions to measure impact, using both quantitative and qualitative tools
3) Submit frequent analysis and reports as per client’s reporting needs
4) Study and document successful models of development promoted by client
5) Carry out business development with other organizations working in related areas of the
renewable energy sector

Secondary role:
Developing disruptive ideas through research in field:
1) Be part of ideation sessions at IU and come up with disruptive ideas to pilot in field; champion
ideas if interested
2) Contribute to IU team towards successfully piloting disruptive ideas in field
Participate in M&E work of IU, be part of assessments and studies:
1) Participate in conceptualisation of new programmes, writing of proposals and strategizing of
engagement with clients
2) Lead and deliver on short term M&E assignments
3) Effectively communicate our work through our website and other forms of social media
Required competencies:
1) Ability to generate meaningful insights with large volumes of data
2) Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel analytics
3) Ability to design study tools and translate them into mobile based surveys
4) Ability to document research findings and create detailed narrative reports, directly
presentable to clients
5) Ability to present research findings in a structured manner to client audience
